Tuesday, February, 1, 2011, 17-year-old Matthew Tayler and a passenger were killed after their car slammed into a tractor-trailer in Newton County, Indiana.
Wednesday, February 2, 2011, 57-year-old Susan Smith of Mundelein, Illinois, was found dead inside her vehicle at a Lake Zurich, Illinois church parking lot. She'd been missing since Tuesday.
60-year-old Peter Davis of Lincoln Park, was found Wednesday evening, floating in the water about a mile away from Lincoln Park's Diversey Harbor. He suffered a heart-attack and drowned in Lake Michigan.
69-year-old Charles Hubbard of Downers Grove; 62-year-old Pheao Sam of Carol Stream; 69-year-old Robert Andreason of Glendale Heights; a second man from Carol Stream, who was 61-years-old and has yet to be identified; and a 58-year-old man from Lyons, Illinois; died after shoveling snow.
80-year-old John Pietraszek's body was found in his south side home. According to an autopsy, his death was weather-related.
A 48-year-old Grayslake, Illinois man apparently froze to death in his car after being stranded on Highway 45 near Casey Road.
69-year-old David Shotts from Lake in the Hills, died from a heart-attack while walking to his car in the blizzard. Shotts was a substitute school teacher.
Friday, February 4, 2011, 74-year-old Daisy Scott froze to death in her west side home on the 5800 block of West Walton Street. The elderly woman's home had no heat.
79-year-old Joseph Smith of Oak Forest, was found unresponsive on his front porch on the 6500 block of West 151st Street. Friday, February 4, 2011, he was pronounced dead. Authorities said his death was due to cold exposure.
60-year-old William "Billy" King, a Chicago Streets and Sanitation worker, died Saturday, February 5, 2011, while shoveling snow in an alley on the 3600 block of West Devon. King, who was on duty, was trying to remove the snow around the garbage cans, so the waste could dumped into his truck.
