I am not sure when this incident occurred, but at 2:57 a.m. a police evidence technician was called to the location to process the crime scene.

Apparently, the victim was stabbed in the left side of the neck and is in critical condition.

No further details are available.

UPDATE: According to updated information provided by Chicago Breaking News, a 33-year-old man has been implicated in the stabbing of a woman at 1400 North Lake Shore Drive. After the assault, the man threatened to jump from a balcony on the 11th floor.

Chicago police officers were able to talk the man off the ledge.

The injured woman is at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

  1. WOW, this is tragic and so unnecessary. Whatever happened to counseling and talking? Wonder if this woman was defending herself like the other domestic abuse death? I swear, violence seems to be the problem with the world. We're going mad:(

  2. Towanda, I understand the psychology behind victimization, but I still have a hard time grasping why people stay in abusive relationships. And I don't care what kind of abuse it is. So that includes verbal abuse, too.

When someone becomes verbally abusive, that's a clear indication of they REALLY are. Any who is capable of intentionally hurting you with words, is also capable of hurting you physically.

  3. I live in this building. We don't have any balconies, so I have no idea what that update is about.

  4. I live here, too. I heard that the "balcony" was actually the fire escape.

  5. It wasn't the balcony or fire escape...he was in was on the window sill edge, I was out in the hall when it was going on after the police got there. I saw both her, her friend and him come out of 11q.

  6. Why have you not updated your story?! The victim didn't die and your reckless reporting and "sources" caused a lot of grief to her friends. Shame on you.

Thank you for bringing that major oversight to my attention. I sincerely apologize for any distress that misinformation may have caused you, or the victim's loved ones.

I glad to hear that she survived her injuries.
