Police did not disclose the offender’s motive for the attack.
At the time of my report, the woman’s injures were treated by EMS workers at the scene. I was unable to confirm if the victim was latter taken to a hospital.
The offender is an African-American man in his forties, very tall, with a heavy build. He was wearing glasses and all black clothing.
After the assault, the suspect jumped on an eastbound bus on Devon Ave. Police at the scene said the offender jumped on a number 88 bus, but other sources indicate the suspect boarded an eastbound number 36 Broadway bus.
No further details are available.
There is no bus 88 on Devon.That had to be either a 155, 151 or 36. The 155 heads east back to Sheridan and than North. the others come my way...just fricking great, more ghetto thugs roaming and preying on people in Edgewater. Is there ANY other color they wear? Because of that, it's harder to stop a person. try and look for another identifying features..tattoos, shoes, face..they can't ditch those things. Heads up people, he's coming our way...
ReplyDeleteExactly!!! Someone told me police stopped a possible offender on a Broadway bus near Thorndale and Broadway... it was the wrong man.
ReplyDeleteCTA's #88 Higgins bus only serves a small portion of Devon, between Canfield and Harlem, which very west of 1500 W. Devon (a little east of Ashland).
ReplyDeleteI go past this block everyday while going to school ... very scary. Thankfully, I'm on a school bus most times, and when I'm not, I avoid Devon.
