Oprah's Family Secret: Reveals Half-Sister

Just as I suspected... Oprah revealed Monday that she has a half-sister who was given up for adoption at birth.

47-year-old Patricia of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is Oprah's mother's daughter.

Apparently, Patricia has known she was related to Oprah since 2007, but never cashed in on the secret by contacting the media.

Patricia said as a child, she bounced around from foster home to foster home.

DNA test results have confirmed the long lost sibling is indeed related to Lady O.

  1. When the ratings on the new channel start to tank, Oprah has to turn to her bag of "who cares about me" stories. At the end of the day who really cares about Oprah and her ego?

  2. Next month the world will order her new book about discovering she's actually a White lesbian.

  3. Oprah is a complete phony.

  4. Good for both of them but really, who really cares? Here's a question, if she wanted to "get it out there" before the press did, why is this the first time she's wanted to "get it out there" before the press got ahold of it? How long have these gay issues been following her around? How about the rumor about her stabbing Stedman about 25 years ago because she caught him in bed with another guy? Seems a little fishy to me that she wanted to keep the press from putting their spin on this story and not the others.

  5. In the late nineties I met a woman who claimed she was in Oprah's social circle. This person alleged that Oprah used cocaine and engaged in tawdry sex parties.

The woman had written a book about Oprah, but the publishing companies were giving her the cold shoulder. There was also a lawsuit involved. I was allowed to read the deposition.

Shortly after my encounter with this woman, Oprah made the announcement that she experimented with drugs.

I think Oprah's show was more about control, than the reunification of family. :-)

  6. towanda, I agree. :) If Oprah and Stedman are still together after that drama, then it means one thing-both are dysfunctional.

Timothy, I agree. :) Oprah is about control!

Do you remember the early years of Oprah, when Oprah was "wilder" than Donahue? Oprah was "Springeresque" then, with the transsexuals, men cheating on women with men (and vice versa), etc. From 1986/1987, when re-runs aired around 5 AM, I still remember Oprah asking "Do you pee in the showerrrrrr?" and "Do you have oral sex?".

By the mid 1990s, Oprah and Springer coincidentally switched. Springer went from normal shows to "trash", while Oprah went from "trash" to normal. A chat friend said "Oprah had to switch, because she was losing sponsors."

  7. Rudy, not only do I remember those shows, I attended at least two of them! I was in the audience during a show Oprah did on ex-wives of celebrities.

I only remember Richard Pryor's ex-wife, because I think she was flirting with me! LMAO!

I can't remember the topic of the second show, but I remember Oprah asked us (the audience) if we thought Devry was a real school. :-)

  8. Rudy, back then, it was a sin to miss an Oprah show!

  9. MY how we've grown:) Here's something else that always bothers me about Oprah. Can anyone tell me who or what in Chicago she has contributed too or helped..like she did with building a school in AFRICA? Does her "angel network" help anyone or anything in Chicago? When I lived 2 blocks from her, I NEVER saw her anywhere in the Gold Coast and yet I saw many other celebrities, shopping, eating dinner, but Never Oprah. I think chicago MADE her but she was NEVER a part of this city. I also thought her shows were a bit better back than...such gossip around the water cooler after those shows:)

  10. Hi towanda! :)

    Re: Chicago and/or Angel Network
    I don't know-sorry! :(

    Re: School
Oprah mentioned that some/most (?) African Americans wouldn't appreciate/value her school. Instead, she chose South Africa.

    Re: Gold Coast
    Perhaps, Oprah wanted privacy.

    Re: "Old Shows"
    I agree. :)

  11. Hi Timothy! :)

Since DeVry University is accredited by the North Central Association, I'd say it's a real university. :)

Historically, there were some problems with DeVry and other universities accepting each others' credits.
