A man sitting in his vehicle was shot in Chicago’s West Humboldt Park neighborhood
The shooting happened around 7:17 p.m. on the 4500 block of West North Avenue; near the intersection of North Avenue and Kenton. The official address given by police is 4551 West North Avenue.
According to officers at the scene, the shooting victim’s car was struck by several bullets. At least one shot hit the victim in the arm.
Preliminary reports indicate the man was taken to Illinois Masonic hospital in good condition.
Around 7:30 p.m., officers chased a van possibly containing three suspects involved in the North Avenue shooting.
The fleeing vehicle was struck by another citizens’ car at the intersection of North and Kedzie Avenues. The official address given by police is 3149 West North Avenue.
At the time of my report, two of the three occupants in the van were under arrest.
Police recovered a gun in the suspects’ vehicle.
