Around 4:10 a.m., a man was assaulted and robbed in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood.
The complainant, whom police said appeared be intoxicated, couldn’t tell authorities exactly where the robbery occurred.
The victim said the crime happened at Roscoe and Halsted Street, or Buckingham and Halsted Street -- he wasn’t sure.
Reportedly, the victim was mugged by two African-American men who threw him to ground and rummaged through his pockets. The man did not appear to be injured, said one responding officer. However, one of his pockets was torn.
No weapon was seen or implied during this crime, said police.

This area is being targeted by ghetto thugs and Tom Tunney should be aware of this. He should be demanding more police presence from the Town Hall District. Especially when the bars close. Lots of crime occurring here lately. Heads up Tunney, this area has a large part of the money in your ward! I doubt you really want to ignore the gay community or that neighborhood.
ReplyDeletePerhaps, Tom doesn't care, because he no opposition in the upcoming aldermanic race.
ReplyDeleteWell he better start caring because it would be very easy to move "boystown" to Andersonville! I would be willing to bet that our ward has more gay people than his right now and if he loses boystown because of safety concerns, his ward will be at a huge loss to replace it.
ReplyDeleteI live in Boystown, Alderman Tunney came to my building to speak to the residents and the question of crime came. Tunney went on and on about how the stats show that there is very little crime. Anyone who lives in Chicago knows the police stats are bogus, the process is difficult to report a crime. I myself was recently assaulted in the area, the first thing the police say "do you want to file a report, we probably won't be able to find him...". It used to be that the police were in the area, now they are no where. Tunney - stop whining and do your job or stop running!
