This "gay" bar is really more straight than gay and that area of Belmont has become pretty "ify" late at night. There was a person killed in the alley by that bar a few years ago and there are many muggings around there...can't blame the Diplomat anymore.
ReplyDeleteReally? Thank you for the update. Most Internet searches claim Berlin is still mostly "gay". I can't believe they finally shutdown the Diplomat. That place was a hot mess.
ReplyDeleteGays go in there but not like we used to because the cliental has changed so much..plus the area. Now, if the city would only shut down some of these other infested SRO's we might have a chance of cleaning other areas up.
ReplyDeleteMy memories of Berlin are from the 80s. LOL Boy! I'm out of touch!
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame that everywhere "affordable housing" pops up, the crime rate increases.
Same here but not to "date" myself lol..I sponsored a benefit in there way back than to help one of my friends fight for custody of her child..maybe we saw each other?? And you're right, it happens time & again ALL over the place. Just WHO gets these low income houses and SEC8 housing? I know a few people who truly qualify and don't stand a snowballs chance in hell of getting in and I'M sure there are many people who do get in that are not qualified. Wonder what the trick is?
