Uptown: Shots Fired at Sheridan and Agatite, 1 in Custody

UPDATE   At 10:23 a.m., police were chasing a suspect after shots were fired near the corner of North Hazel Street and West Agatite Ave., in Uptown.

Shots were also reportedly fired on Sheridan and Agatite and Sheridan and Sunnyside.

Within a matter of seconds, police had the offender in custody.

Witnesses described the shooter as an African-American man wearing a white mask.

Police say the gunman was shooting northbound, towards Windsor Ave, in front of the Unique Thrift store at 4445 N. Sheridan Rd.

A gun was recovered behind the wheel of a car at 919 West Agatite.

At 10:35 a.m., police located a shooting victim. The man was grazed by a bullet, but refused medical attention. According to police, there was a noticeable bullet hole in the man's clothing.

Police are looking for a second suspect. He may have fled the scene northbound on Sheridan Rd., in a tan or gold jeep Cherokee.
