Around 4 a.m., a fire was reported at 110 N. Wacker Drive, in downtown Chicago. When police arrived, there was no sign of a fire.
An officer canvassing the area noticed smoke on lower Wacker Drive and alerted the other officers.
The actual location of the fire was 122 N. (lower) Wacker Drive.
At 4:13 a.m., ComEd notified police, they were about to cut the power in the area.
According to police, power was shut-off at 110 N. Wacker Drive, 150 N. Wacker Drive, and the Randolph Street bridge.
Investigators said the manhole fire was electrical.
