Man Shot and Pistol Whipped During Home Invasion in Roseland

Police say a man was shot in the stomach and struck repeatedly on the head with a gun, during a home invasion on the far south side.

The incident occurred around 8 p.m. on the 11300 block of South Forrestville Avenue in Chicago’s Roseland Community.

Police found blood, bullet casings, and narcotics at the crime scene.

The shooting victim was taken to Christ Hospital and Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

I’ve gotten conflicting reports on the victim’s condition. One officer said he was stable, the other said he was in critical condition.

A description of the shooter or shooters, was not disclosed.
