A woman on the north side of Chicago was robbed at gunpoint; the victim’s husband said the experience left her traumatized.
The crime occurred around 9:35 p.m., on the 1100 block of West Altgeld Street, in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood. Taken at gunpoint was an engagement ring, two purses, and the keys to the victim’s home.
One suspect was described as an African-American man, 5’6” to 5’8”, and 25 to 30-years-old. He was wearing a black hoodie and a puffy coat. According to the victim, the suspect was armed with a black handgun.
The second suspect was also African-American. He was wearing "dark clothing" and may have been acting as the lookout man.
During the robbery, a citizen saw what was happening, and yelled at the men. The suspects then fled in different directions. One man ran eastbound on Altgeld Street and the other ran northbound towards Wrightwood Avenue.
Around 10:02 p.m., a police officer saw a man on the corner of Diversey and Clark, who matched one of the offender’s description. When the officer went back to question the man, he was gone.
