Shots Fired in South Side Chatham Neighborhood, 1 Arrested

Chicago police officers were present when gunfire rang out in Chicago’s Chatham neighborhood. The officers didn’t see the shooting, but reported hearing the gunfire.

The shooting happened around 8:39 p.m. on the 8800 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue.

Police arrested a man on the 8900 block of South Cottage Grove, in connection with the shooting.

A second suspect, described as an African-American man, dressed in all black, is still being sought by police.

At 8:44 p.m., police were talking to the man the suspects were allegedly shooting at. No injuries were reported.
