Around 2:30 a.m., 48-year-old Josefina Prospero was killed when an SUV, driven by a 17-year-old, crashed into her Bolingbrook Apartment. Police say the 17-year-old may have been DUI.
Before the impact, Josefina and her husband were asleep in bed. The SUV tore through the apartment like a missile, crushing the 48-year-old woman. Her husband escaped with minor injuries.
Witnesses said the 17-year-old tried to flee the scene. Neighbors detained the teen until police arrived.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Josefina Prospero's family, friends, and loved ones.
