Vidal Motino, Shot & Killed at Little Rascals Bar (Update)
Here's an update to the story we broke at 3 a.m. You can read my initial report HERE.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the man who was shot and killed at the Little Rascals Bar & Grill, was 20-year-old Vidal Motino.
The bar is located at 4356 West Belmont, in Chicago’s Belmont-Cragin/Hermosa neighborhood.
The Sun-Times says Vidal was shot in the chest after an argument. However, this information contradicts what the officer on the scene and the witnesses said happened. Furthermore, the Sun-Times article fails to mention the shooting happened at a bar.
Based on our own investigation, police were called to the bar around 2:33 a.m., after gunshots were reported. A witness told dispatch that a black car pulled up to the bar and fired shots through a window. The officer on the scene described Motino's face as bloody. He never mentioned the man was shot in the chest.
When police dispatch tried to get more information from the responding officer, he said he was having a hard time getting more details, because the victim was unconscious and most of the witnesses were intoxicated.
As mentioned in my previous report, Motino was taken to Our Lady of Resurrection Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
