UPDATE On October 23, 2010, two police involved car accidents were reported.
The first incident occurred at 10:47 p.m., at the intersection of North Western Ave. and West Armitage Ave.
The officer, whose squad car was struck by another vehicle, was alert and responding to dispatch.
At the time of this report, no injuries were reported, and the officer was able to exit his vehicle and check on the other driver.
At 11:51 p.m., two more police officers were involved in a car accident at North Laramie Ave. and West Augusta Blvd.
The officers said they were "Okay", but still requested an ambulance on the scene. The squad car had to be towed.
According to the Chicago Breaking News, the officers were responding to a "person with a gun" call, when they lost control of their vehicle, hit a parked car, and careened into a Dodge Caravan traveling northbound on Laramie Ave.
Both officers were taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park. The driver of the Dodge Caravan was taken to Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center. The officers and the civilian were treated for minor injuries and released.
