The male suspect in an apparent murder-suicide that shocked a north side community; has been identified.
Police have named 50-year-old Alexander Rojo as the man who shot and killed a woman, and then himself, at the corner of West Granville Ave. and North Sheridan Rd., in Chicago's Edgewater community.
The actual location of the Edgewater murder-suicide was listed as the 6200 block of North Sheridan Rd.
Police say on October 11, 2010, some time after 3 p.m., Rojo and his estranged wife were walking eastbound toward Lake Michigan, when he pulled a gun and shot the woman several times. Moments later, witnesses say Rojo calmly shot himself in the head.
