Questions. Will Chicago's next mayor be a woman? Will she be African-American? Is Carol Mosley Braun the political equivalent of the late Mayor Harold Washington and former mayor, Jane Byrne, all rolled up into one?
A new political poll suggests that Carol Moseley Braun is the top choice among Chicago's black mayoral candidates; trumping “I used to think homosexuality was an evil sickness”, state senator, James T. Meeks.
The numbers also indicate that Moseley Braun is the city’s third favorite candidate, with former White House Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, in the lead.
Personally, the idea of female mayor appeals to me. I think Chicago needs a woman's touch. However, at this stage in the game, I am not sure that woman should be Carol Moseley Braun.
