Alleged Domestic Related Kidnapping/Child Abduction in Austin Neighborhood

Police say a man is wanted for the kidnapping of a 6-month-old baby. It is unclear if the child is related to the offender, but the suspect is definitely known to the child’s mother, because police identified the man by name.

We have chosen not to mention the suspect's name in this article.

The baby was taken from the 100 block of West Laramie Ave. in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood. Police made the announcement at 10:06 p.m.

The suspect is described as 6’3” and 140 lbs. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black jeans, and black and white gym shoes. The baby was wearing a one-piece jumpsuit - no blanket or shoes.

The suspect's and the baby's race was not mentioned in the police newsflash.

The alleged kidnapper fled the scene northbound from the Laramie Ave. address.

If you know anything about this case, please contact the police immediately.
