Adriana Avila, Teen Shot to Death at North Chicago House Party

According to family members, on September 4, 2010, 14-year-old Adriana Avila, left her North Chicago home (without permission) and went to a house party on the 1500 block of North Victoria Ave.; where she was shot in the chest.

It’s being speculated that Avila was not the shooter’s intended victim.

"She was so good in school. She didn't deserve this to happen to her. She did nothing wrong. She wasn't gang-related, whatsoever. This whole shooting was a big mistake," said the slain teen‘s sister, Denisse Avila.

Funeral services will held Wednesday, September 8, 2010, from 4 to 8pm, at the Kelley and Spalding Funeral Home in Highland Park, IL., located at 1787 Deerfield Road.
