UPDATE: As of 3:28 am, the 19th, 20th, and 21st floors, were evacuated.
Around 2:45 am, a fired erupted at a high rise located at 6430 S. Stony Island.
Based on the information I have, the fire was on the 20th or 21st floor. A witness said the smoke was coming from apartment 2010.
Officials on the scene, have confirmed that at least 3 people were injured: two adults and one baby.
At one point, it appeared that firefighters had evacuated everyone from the 20th and 21st floor. But, they quickly discovered, there was a man in a wheelchair, trapped in apartment 2104.
No deaths have been reported.
Chicago police officers arrived on the scene to assist with the evacuation.
If updated information becomes available, I will update this article, accordingly.
