Report: Attempted battery of NBC news reporter

We have just received information that a NBC Chicago news reporter was almost attacked in Chicago’s River West neighborhood.

Around 10:03 p.m., a representative from NBC contacted the authorities, said officials.

According to police sources, a man tried to attack NBC news reporter Lauren Jiggetts near the intersection of West Grand Avenue and North Peoria Street.

Uniformed and plain-clothes officers rushed to the scene.

As of  10:15 p.m., there was no update and no indication the reporter was actually attacked.

UPDATE: Via Twitter, Lauren Jiggetts said she was not attacked and the incident was a misunderstanding. Jiggetts praised the responding police officers for their excellent service.

  4. Love the White girl wig and fake teeth. I've never, ever seen a black woman in $hitcago look like that unless she was on a TV screen. I'll bet they thought she was "rich" because of the skin bleaching too.
