Suspect wanted for Andersonville hit and run

A male driver is wanted for a hit and run in Chicago’s North Side Andersonville neighborhood, said police.

Around 12:30 a.m., police were notified of a car accident at the intersection of North Ashland and West Berwyn Avenues.

An initial report indicated a female was injured during the so-called accident.

Subsequent information suggested a woman on a scooter was struck by a motorist who fled the scene.

Authorities described the hit and run driver as a Hispanic male wearing a baseball cap, driving a teal-colored or greenish-blue Honda Civic with a bike rack on top.

The offender, whose license plate may include the numbers 2459, was last seen going northbound on Clark Street, said police.

Around 12:40 a.m., an officer in the Budlong Woods, Bowmanville area spotted a blue Volkswagen with “fresh front-end damage and a bike rack on top” parked on the 5000 block of North Western Avenue.

Investigators ran the vehicle’s license plate and discovered it belongs to a Hispanic male.

However, at the time of this report, it appeared authorities were still searching for the suspect.

  1. At that very same intersection on the same day (last Saturday) a couple of hours later a car clipped an SUV and the SUV flipped out. Pretty gruesome looking accident. Anyone know anything more about it?
