If you are ever caught filming a Transportation Security Administration agent at Chicago's Union Station, you are going to jail for trespassing!
That's the warning a Chicago "reporter" received from an Amtrak police officer after he videotaped the TSA screening passengers back on July 5, 2012.
Nearly two weeks later, on July 18, Julio N. Rausseo, the creator of the controversial video, was approached by an Amtrak police officer while he was sitting in Metro Deli & Cafe, located inside Union Station at 210 South Canal Street.
"Stop videotaping the police. I'm gon' tell you this, now... you put us on YouTube. I'm not stupid," said the pissed off cop.
"In Amtrak station... I'll bring you the brochure... when it comes down to our security area... you looking at Amtrak security doing screening(s), it's illegal," continued the Amtrak spokesman. "You weren't catching (an) Amtrak train, that's why it's illegal."
When Rausseo asked the officer why TSA agents were at Union Station, the officer said, "That's none of your business."
Although you can't see it in the footage, the so-called independent journalist was later approached by a second Amtrak police officer who announced the "reporter" was being questioned under a Terry stop; which means he's being detained under reasonable suspicion without enough evidence to actually make an arrest.
According to Amtrak officials, Rausseo's July 5, 2012, YouTube video was forwarded to Homeland Security.
