Man robbed at gunpoint in Uptown alley

A victim, described as a Hispanic male, was robbed at gunpoint in an alley in Chicago’s violent Uptown neighborhood.

The 11 p.m. robbery happened behind the 1200 block of West Argyle Street, near Argyle and Magnolia, said police.

Investigators said two black males, one armed with a gun, approached the victim and stole a wallet containing $1000.

The gunman is about 5’10” and 200 pounds. He was wearing a dark red or purple shirt and blue jeans.

The stickup man’s accomplice was wearing a dark-colored shirt and blue jeans.

After the robbery, the thieves fled eastbound through the alley.

  1. I always walk around the city with at least $1,000 in my wallet. In Uptown, I frequently have about $1,800 in case I need anything from Target or the wig/nail shop though.

  3. @CNR, no report about the three people shot one killed on 4400 N. Racine, it's been all over the news accept on here. It happened at 7:30pm today.

  4. Anonymous 1:14 a.m., maybe I am wrong for my approach, but if I can't add anything new to the story, I typically shy away from it. I don't see any value in regurgitating what's already been told.

  5. ^ I kinda noticed that was your stance, CNR. The frustrating thing here in this city is that you literally have to have 13 different news sources running to find out what's really going on. Yelp,CNR,The Trib, what you saw with your own eyes that didn't make the "news",eyewitness accounts,huffpost............................

  6. ^ I agree with your position, why repeat? There should just be some source in this entire city of a summary of the who/what/why/where/when/how, even if it's not that detailed.

  7. Agree 5:35AM, I am glad CNR doesn't repeat the same old stories like the one right now about that little girl, Heaven, who got shot selling "lemonade" at 11 o'clock at night. CNR has brought a lot of the crap that happens in this city to light that normally would go unreported. But I also agree you need mutliple sources to know what the hell is going on and where to avoid.

  8. Working in the service industry ive come to know a lot of illegal hispanics who come here and work hard but dont have a safe place to keep their money. A lot of them often walk around with large sums of cash...

  9. ^ Believe it or not Anon @ 2:48....there's this thing called a "bank" but blacks and mexicans are scurred to death of them as they might have to ...... pay taxes (so police can be PAID to protect innocent people walking down the lakefront).

Blacks walk around with "large sums of cash" too so they can still qualify for welfare. That's why they go after each other like bandits.
