Chicago heat buckles road, pavement

Chicago’s 100-degree 4th of July temperatures are taking a toll on the city’s streets.

At 3:27 p.m., police shutdown the intersection of South Columbus Drive and East Roosevelt Road, west of the John G. Shedd Aquarium, after an officer discovered the pavement was buckled.

The Illinois Department of Transportation, otherwise known as IDOT, was immediately notified, but as of 3:29 p.m., IDOT officials were unable to say when they would arrive at the scene.

Due to the street closure, all traffic in the immediate area, including CTA buses, were temporarily rerouted.

  1. I'm commenting OT on the latest post to get some attention.
I have noticed our brown friends around the city here all drinking Arizona iced tea and wearing hoodies (In JULY).
Can any of you think for yourselves? Are you a hive mind or are you individuals?
If you are dressed like a thug I will be ready to *uck you up if you make any sudden movements towards me, be fairly warned about that.
