Ax attack in Lincoln Square?

Police are investigating a possibly gang-related stabbing in Chicago’s North Side, Lincoln Square neighborhood.

Around 9:20 p.m., a male battery victim walked into Gio’s Bar & Grill, 4857 North Damen Avenue, and asked for help.

The initial police dispatch report indicated the victim was cut on the arm with an ax.

Investigators said the incident occurred somewhere on West Ainsle Street, between Western and Oakley Avenues.

The attackers were described as male Hispanics.

Addition information regarding the crime wasn’t immediately available, because according to police, the victim wasn't fully cooperating with investigators.

The victim was transported to Swedish Covenant Hospital, 5145 North California, in unknown condition.
