Victims robbed at gunpoint in Lakeview alley

Early Saturday morning, police were investigating an armed robbery in Chicago’s North Side, Lakeview neighborhood, on the outskirts of Boystown.

According to police dispatch reports, an unspecified number of victims were robbed at gunpoint in an alley behind 3250 North Clark Street, between School and Belmont, around 3 a.m.

Two offenders were involved in the crime, said police.

The gunman is a black male, 28 to 32-years-old, 5’8”, and 160 to 165 pounds. He was wearing a blue or dark-colored t-shirt and a navy blue baseball cap.

The gunman’s accomplice, also a black male, is in his mid 30s to early 40s, about 6'2" and 210 to 230 pounds. He was wearing a white t-shirt and jeans. His t-shirt might have thin, dark stripes on it.

After the robbery, the offenders fled northbound through the alley, said police.

At the time of this report, both suspects were still at large.

  1. So why is Alderman Tom Tunney silent on this on-going but escalating black crime wave in Lake View?
Is Tunney only concerned about his sticky buns or does he view this as a form of economic development for the disadvantaged?
Why isnt Tunney demandind heightened police attention?
    These blks are thug predators.

  2. Now here's an example of when I WILL "blame the victim". What were you doing in the ALLEY at that time of the night? When I first moved to Chicago, my neighbor that I hung out with always had to cut through the alleys. The next place I moved to in fancy "Lakeview East" had a nice short-cut out the backdoor over to Broadway....through the alley. I never went out that backdoor. I didn't want to get into the habit of using that alley. Up in Edgewater there was another place I lived that had a nice alley "shortcut". This female about 5'1" got scurred to death because I was behind her - heading home - in that alley. I had no business being in that alley at that time of night, let alone her silly a**. You've got workers in your "entertainment" strip around the corner here standing on a stage bragging about the oral sex they give/receive in these alleys to this day. Alleys were closed off and subdivided amongst homeowners in most civilized cities in this country decades ago.

Chicago loves their "alleys" because they can still be "alley cats" - of all hues.

  3. It is a complete mystery why alderman Tunney and the residents of east Lakeview tolerate this nonsense. The residents of his ward that live west of Clark St. are VERY angry and upset about the Throat Slashing incident that occurred this weekend. If I were the alderman I would go out to the community and detail an immediate neighborhood clean up strategy, because if he does not someone else will.

  4. So we're supposed to give up our alleys to the scum that has no business being here in the first place?

I have no problem identifying this vermin yet the police cant see anything amiss?

Tunney is useless but he doesnt care.

FYI - alleys also serve as refuse collection routes- so under your plan we just pile up our trash on the sidewalk like NYC? Not!

  5. After years of living in this neighborhood we are still waiting for the Alderman to detail a strategy,,, the winter months are calm but we wait for summer when hopefully some ideas by the alderman and police have come up with preventitive solutions... No such luck,, Sorry to say,, it is now 603 am,,, having called the police at 430am to report the 30 people sitting on other peoples cars at halsted and belmont, watched the police 15 min later drive by and say " go Home" to these people from the safety of their cars.then at about 530 I was waken to screaming, and 3 squared calls pulling infront of my bldg, then saw several officers chase some people on foot,,, aprrended a few , dont know what happened after that ,, but yet another sleepless night, where I must get up in an hour to go to work,, whilst thugs take over the neigborhood! Schaumburg,, Here I come!

  7. These people are a constant nuisance presence.
They complain that they're racially profiled, yet they're (blacks) are the only mobs loitering, litering, blocking traffic, blocking pedestrian traffic, stealing, robbing, assaulting, and beating people in this area.
The police and TUNNEY evidently condone this type of behavior.

PS - police dont respond to calls like this anymore.

  8. Tunney you fucking pussy.

Get control of the Black on White Crime wave in your ward or watch it go back to what it was not too long ago, gays and shitbags.

  9. Tunney, the media and police will pay attention if these thugs prey on some of the 800,000 Pride revelers who dump a ton of money in Lakeview.
    Maybe - he better.

He'd be paying attention if these black lowlifes were preying in the Wrigley ghetto bars and their customers.

  10. If you are complaining about loitering/hanging out go back to the suburbs or indiana or whatever small town your from

  11. The loitering, hanging-out, littering, etc., are precursors to the thefts, robberies, assaults and batteries that are occurring in Lakeview.

These people are coming here to commit mischief and crime, not seeking sanctuary in an inclusive and accepting community.

There is a difference - so what we don't need are apologists for these black predators that come to LV to prey upon non-whites.

Under the Broken Windows theory of law enforcement, police will curb more serious crime by aggressively enforcing smaller infractions, ie, blocking traffic , loitering, intimidation, mobbing, littering, and 30 neer-do-wells sitting on vehicles that dont belong to them.

These people are disrespectful, uncivil, and dangerous.

  12. The police have been complaining of their low man power for years. This kind of crowds are taking over the whole city... From it's origins on the West / south sides, to now downtown, wicker park, Lincoln park n all the other used-to-be decent areas. "these" crowds know that the police are understaffed and will not arrest them for "loitering" or disturbances. Now that it affects us, now we are complaining

  13. Gang-related shooting and vehicular attack at 4am this morning in front of Tom Tunney's residence at Diversey, Lakeview, and Cannon Drive. 3 hospitalized and offenders fled scene and remain at large.

  14. Attn 3:22 - correct but that doesnt mean that concerned area residents demand that the lakeview situation be acknowledged and addressed as our crime problem is largely preventable - we shouldnt expect lakeview to deteriorate as other communities have.

so "broken windows" might be one avenue as well as increased use of pod camrras. also, we might push for recruitment and retention of new police manpower.

  15. Not all of us "blacks" are to blame. Be careful how you throw words around. I am black, I work, i pay taxes, I go out for a good time. Even *I* was robbed at gunpoint 2 blocks from my house in Lakeview.

That said, this is an absolute shame of what the neighborhood has become. Perhaps Tom will begin to listen when businesses in his district become more vocal about the diminished customer flows because people like you and I who want to be safe, go out and have fun stop doing so (or shift to other areas where this problem isn't as prevalent)

Idiocy and disrespectfulness comes in all shapes, sizes and colors.

    1. If that's the case, then YOU of all people should be the most vocal and be a leader in persecuting this kind of violent behavior by other blacks!!! Until more black individuals and then black groups persecute this type of behavior, of course you are going to be confronted by racist responses and stereotypes. YOU have to remember one thing: We are talking about mob mentality in a lot of these crimes. Individuals don't fuel the fire of racism as much as a group, or mob!! So as long as you stand as an individual, u will have to deal with the fallout of racism. And if the black community all over the city was serious about fighting crime, there would be no such thing called "No Snitch Code".

  16. It's not all "blacks", not by a long shot. The fact of the matter is and must be acknowledged however, that nearly all of the violent crime in LV IS committed by blacks from outside of LV.

  17. Of course it's not all black people!
And the black local residents, shoppers, patrons, and truly needy disadvantaged youth are victimized by the predators.

But we cant conveniently overlook that the roving mobs on belmont, broadway, clark and halsted are blacks not from this area.

Its not their race that brings this attention.
Its the behavior of these visitors that MUST be addressed.

  18. not all black people - but cant ignore facts.
I was walking nb on halsted at 9:30am on a sunday morning on my way to center on halsted when a blk youth ran ahead of his group and jumped on my back-shoulders.
I overlooked his ignorant behavior until he picked up a beverage can and cocked his arm back preparing to throw it at me.
Fearing an imminent attack, I turned on my attacker at which point he ran ahead into the CoH - my destination.
As I waited at the front door for the police, the young man attempted to depart but the police grabbed him.
First thing out of his mouth was a lie alleging that I called him a "ni**er."
Always playing the race card - he never showed up in court and warrant issued.

  19. Don't be fooled by this poster.
We have yet to see a black person step in and stop mugging, rapes, mob attacks, robberies and beatings.
    Not a single example.

  20. where are the guardian angels?

i´m also surprised that big white dudes that spend all their time at the gym haven´t formed ´security crews´that run around and and beat up the young black honor students...
