A black man with a very large build, snatched a customer’s purse at a downtown Chicago restaurant… but once the chase was on... he dropped the bag and the victim got her purse back, said police.
At approximately 8:32 p.m., a man stole a woman’s purse from the Grand Lux Café at 600 North Michigan Avenue, according to police dispatch reports.
The thief was described as a black man in his 30s, about 6-feet-tall and 300 to 380 pounds.
The offender was wearing a white polo shirt and black jeans, said police.
Apparently, the big-boned suspect decided to ditch the purse, because he knew he couldn’t outrun his pursuers.
Investigators said someone, presumably the victim, took a picture of the offender with a cell phone camera.
At the time of this report, the thief was still at large.
