The first incident occurred around 12:32 a.m. at the corner of North Sheridan Road and West Argyle Street, said police.
A male offender, of unknown race, robbed a man at knifepoint and took his wallet, said authorities.
The mugger was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black gloves, and carrying a large knife.
At the time of this report, no further details were available regarding the Sheridan and Argyle robbery.
About an hour later and several blocks south, an Uptown pizza delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint on the 4700 block of North Beacon Street, around 1:29 a.m.
Citing police communications, the driver works for Godfather’s Pizza, 1265 West Wilson Avenue.
Two black male offenders stole the driver’s cell phone, two large pizzas, and $100, said police.
The gunman was wearing glasses, a silver or gray jacket, and he was carrying a black 9 mm handgun.
The gunman’s accomplice is approximately 5’6” and he was wearing a black sweater.
Both offenders are said to be in their 20s and both men were wearing baseball caps, said police.
Officers canvassed the area, but the thieves were nowhere to be found.
Going even farther south in Uptown, around 1:47 a.m., a woman was attacked in her hallway at 948 West Cuyler Avenue, between Sheridan and Broadway, according to police dispatch reports.
A black male offender forced his way into the building behind the woman, grabbed her by the throat, and tried to take her backpack, said police.
The would-be robber is in his 20s, about 5’7”, and his hair was braided. He was wearing a white, short-sleeved shirt and he smelled like alcohol, said police.
That Big Chick's just became to much of a bother to visit. I just think it's hilarious the disdain some people from Section 8 burbs and ghettos here have for other cities while they "party" next door to a bunch of abandoned buildings amongst gunfire and knives. I mean, the gays where I'm from are much more creative. We take those abandoned buildings and turn them into high caliber clubs with state-of-the-art sound systems and music, a dress code and cover charges. We run them out.....with style.
