Around 3:52 p.m., a car accident was reported on the 800 block of West Irving Park Road, near Irving Park and Clarendon, said police.
The initial police dispatch report indicated a car struck a building, but another source said the car slammed into a fence and never made contact with the building.
Two ambulances responding to the scene near the Uptown, Lakeview border.
Westbound traffic on Irving Park Road and southbound traffic on Pine Grove Avenue were temporarily rerouted.
At least one person was transported to Weiss Memorial Hospital in Uptown.
