Around 8:35 p.m., a woman was robbed at gunpoint on the 4000 bock of North Ravenswood Avenue, near Ravenswood and Irving Park Road, said police.
The thief brandished a silver revolver and stole the woman’s leather bag and her denim jacket, said authorities.
The armed offender was described as a male Hispanic in his 20s, wearing a long white t-shirt and tan cargo shorts.
The crook was last seen running northbound on Ravenswood.
Not another one man.

ReplyDeleteThe 4000 block of N Ravenswood Ave is not near Irving Park Rd, it's 2 blocks N of Montrose, which makes it Ravenswood, not North Center. And it's also 4 blocks from Rahm's house. Either way, it's completely fucked up! Thanks Rahm, great job hiring more cops and keeping the city safe.
ReplyDeleteEveryone write your reps/ senators/ and the republicans tell them the horrors of subsidised housing. Tell them of the failure of subsidised housing, how the people were supposed to assimilate into the rea but instead they turned it into the area they left. Tell them u want the HUD budget cut so that there is only enough for seniors,vets and people with mental and physical disabilities. This will force the CHA to reduce the number of vouchers and sell their buildings to private companies. The baby mamas who are the beneficiaries of subsidised housing have criminal relatives and boyfriends that target the area and they also live with them.
ReplyDeleteSection 8 and subsidised housing is funded federally not through the city(for those who didn't know). SO COMPLAINING TO THE CITY IS A WASTE OF TIME.
Everytime there is a budget battle contact them and tell them to cut the HUD BUDGET.
Support Paul Ryan's budget to cut food stamps and other welfare programs that promotes over breeding by lowincome, low intelligence uneducated men and women who produce the spawn who do all the wyldings and crime.

ReplyDeleteRavenswood runs North/South. Irving Park runs East/West at 4000 North. They intersect at 4000 North Ravenswood. Doh.
ReplyDeleteRegarding the "up and coming" - ness of the area...it's already come up. Single family properties along Ravenswood in this area will generally run you $1Mil upward. Not surprising to find opportunistic criminals prowling the area. Police should be having their "Aha!" moment any day now.
