Police search Macy’s for alleged gunman

Police along with store security, searched a downtown department store for an alleged gunman Saturday evening.

At approximately 6:22 p.m., a citizen reported a man with a gun inside Macy’s at 111 North State Street.

The suspect, who was supposedly spotted on the second floor, was described as a 370 pound black man with dreadlocks and a light complexion.

The alleged gunman had the weapon tucked in the back of his pants, according to police dispatch.

Citing preliminary information, it appears the alleged suspect may have been caught on a security camera.

At 6:44 p.m., authorities were still searching the store, included a stairwell where an alarm was apparently activated.

If more information becomes available, this article will be updated accordingly.

UPDATE: The search was called off around 7:12 p.m. The alleged suspect was never found.

  4. About 370 pounds? With dreadlocks? Sounds like a real catch for some lucky lady out there. That is, if the cops don't get him first.
