Friday, February 24, 2012, around 11:23 p.m., authorities responded to the Aragon Entertainment Center at 1106 West Lawrence Avenue in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood.
A preliminary police dispatch report indicated a 16-year-old girl’s drink was “laced with a drug”.
According to a female officer at the scene, the teen, who was found "semi-conscious" in an alley near the 4800 block of North Winthrop Avenue, appeared to be highly intoxicated and was bleeding from the face.
An ambulance was immediately called to the scene.
It’s unclear if police made contact with the alleged offender.
Steve Hiroyuki Aoki, also known as Kid Millionaire, was performing the night the alleged incident occurred.
Doors opened at 8 p.m., and the event was supposed to be restricted to patrons 17 and older.
Terrible parenting.
ReplyDeleteWho the hell pays to see a DJ? He's a record player player. He plays other people's records.

Eh... bet the little brat feels like an adult now!
ReplyDeleteSelecting and mixing tracks, vinyl in particular does require some degree of talent. These degrees vary of course depending on the individual DJ. Producing original tracks and remixing them is another degree depending on the tools used, whether it is produced digitally or from actual instuments or a mixture of both. Its just a matter of personal tastes. Some DJs are terrible producers, while some producers are terrible DJs. I like em both. Now genres of music played/produced? Thats a whole different argument
ReplyDeletePlay other people's records??? haha i just throw on a mau5 helmet and tap the spacebar brah!!
ReplyDeleteI dunno. The first neighbor I befriended when moving to Chicago came home and started banging his head on the bedroom wall adjacent to mine. He said "somebody must have spiked my drink". I had to call the cops. My thoughts were, whatever "it" was - he probably bought it. He came home from the bar in that "state" twice after that. It wasn't alcohol.
ReplyDeleteCNR, do we know if the establishment called the police, or if someone who found the girl did?
ReplyDeleteAlso, how can you have an event for 17 y/o's & servce alchohol at it???? I know that alchohol is served at ballgames & in restaurants where minors are present, but in an nightclub setting, I can't believe that there is booze when minors are allowed.
When I saw the headline, I just assumed an event at the Aragon was 21+, and that the girl had snuck/fake ID'd her way in (disregard that this was open to people 17+, it still should only have been 21+. Legally, a 16 & a 17 y/o are exactly the same, and an under 21y/o mostly the same, too).
