Stabbing reported at Edgewater neighborhood condo

Tuesday, a man was allegedly stabbed inside an Edgewater neighborhood high rise on the city’s North Side.

At 1:34 a.m., someone reported a stabbing at the Sheridan Point Condominiums at 6325 North Sheridan Road.

The 911 caller allegedly said the offender was still at the scene.

According to police dispatch, the emergency call came from the condo’s lobby, but the alleged stabbing occurred inside a 7th floor condo unit.

Preliminary reports indicate a male victim was stabbed with a “7-inch switchblade with a black handle”.

As of 1:55 a.m., there was no indication that an ambulance was called to the North Side high rise.

In fact, at 1:56 a.m., police were still speaking with the so-called victim.

If more details become available, this article will be updated accordingly.

Our most beloved social service agencies is putting their peeps all over Edgewater and Rogers Park now that Uptown is a certified warzone, it is not a good change, I'm sure this had something to do with it.

  2. It was actually a stubbing. Stinky Ned stubbed his toe on the curb - again. Since no one heard his calls for help, he took his bag of trash and went inside to wait for the 3 fire trucks, 2 ambulances and 4 cop cars to arrive (I've seen this). HIS own knife fell out of his trench coat when police arrived.

  3. I witnessed some of this. ..there was a guy with blood all over in the lobby, getting a head wound dressed by EMTs and a ton of cops around. Apparently the suspect is completely wacko.

  4. The "victim" has been a squatter in the unit for months without paying rent and is about to be evicted by sheriff. The suspect was a LEGAL tenant who had just moved in to who live in same 2 bedroom unit. Suspect was released with supervison and "victim' still has the place free of rent to himself...no files were charged.

  5. I live in building and I can't believe our management can't get this squatter out of the unit. He only does BAD stuff and does nothing to contribute to the common good. Never before did we have problems with police coming all the time. Apparently this man thinks he can illegally move into someones vacant unit and not have to pay a penny. Must be nice when we are paying mortgages and assessments and this free loader who knows the systems (takes advantage of the justice systems and tenant rights by exploiting it) plays the race card for anything that confronts him. Very sad. What is this crazy world coming to?

  6. Joel Muniz is a satan worshiper who hired a mentally ill psychotic boy to infuriate the tenant who stopped paying him after the tenant was told by the sheriff and condo association that Joel Muniz was not paying the mortgage or assessments and was stealing his money. Joel tried to destroy his own condo to make living conditions worse for this tenant and had to be removed by police because of his own misbehavior.

  7. Derek Tucker is a meth user and was squatter who took advantage of his friend and stopped paying rent then refused to move out. Joel is absolutely NOT a Satan worshiper. The tenant that moved in seemed mentally unfit because the squatter pushed him to the edge. He plays the race card and surprisingly holds a degree in psychology. Don't seek his help that's for sure...
