Report: Man tried to stab Walgreens pharmacist over prescription

According to police dispatch, when a customer couldn’t get his Rx filled at a downtown Chicago pharmacy, he tried to stab an employee.

At 6:50 p.m., a 911 call indicated a male black with dreadlocks, armed with a writing pen, tried to stab a Walgreens pharmacist at 151 North State Street, because the pharmacist refused to fill his prescription.

After the alleged attempted stabbing, the so-called offender put a black bandana over his face and starting walking through the store’s liquor department, said dispatch.

Responding officers apprehended the man near the corner of State and Lake Streets, around 6:54 p.m.

Investigators said the man appears to be schizophrenic.

Subsequent police communications suggest the man was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

  1. What a crazy asshole. And the loop is full of these, I usually pick up mine & my wife's prescriptions at two different WG's in the loop, and more often than not, there will be at least one crazy ass nig trying to get people to fill his "prescription." And by people I mean customers like me, not the pharmacists. I assume they stole some RX pads from a clinic or something, and are trying to get people with insurance to get their "meds."
