The shooting happened near Sheridan and Wilson.
Some people in the area heard 10 to 20 shots.
According to investigators, 1 shooting victim was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital, 2 victims were transported to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, and a fourth possible shooting victim walked into Weiss Memorial Hospital.
Chicago News Report has been told a young male victim may have been killed during the shooting.
UPDATE: The exact location of the shooting is 4552 North Sheridan Road.
At 7:28 p.m., it appears homicide detectives were notified.
UPDATE: At approximately 9:10 p.m., police said the shooting was possibly caught on a bus security camera.
UPDATE: 4 people were shot during a drive-by in Uptown. The victims range from 20 to 35-years-old. Three of the four victims are listed in serious-to-critical condition, said the Chicago Tribune.
So far, no fatalities have been reported.
We now have pure equality in Chicago...the North side is as much of a shit hole as the South and West side. There truly is nowhere to hide from these black animals. Hell, they even are in the burbs. It is like a black cancer that keeps spreading.

ReplyDeleteThe Uptown Update has some post about supporting the local businesses, especially after the recent shut-downs because of the stand-off fiasco. Well, ya know what? I tried to support one of them - numerous times. I no longer will at the expense of my life however. Sorry but I'm not giving into the Roc-a-wear and tatoo up the side of my neck to "fit in" therefore the "you serial killers" slur was slung for looking over my shoulder at what was coming up from behind me.
And Anon @ 10:02 - Your condos are currently valued at 1/2 the purchase price because they were purchased for more than double what they were worth in the first place. Really a big a** mess and I certainly don't see any recovery in sight. Another Chicago area - written off. Soon I'll be on lockdown in my "home" after dusk like my neighbors in one of the supposed "better" hoods. And don't dare send me anymore solicitations to spend $ there either.

ReplyDeleteI don't feel that Gang Members are the result of missed opporotunity. Public education is free my friends. It is a persons responsibility to know right from wrong, and they do. Thugs are not victims, they know that killing someone is a horrible crime and still partake in this behavior. They have the opporotunity to get a day to day job. They are not "forced" into selling drugs and committing senseless crime. Why don't we blame them, their parents? Why is it societies fault that they kill and not their own. Problem with our culture...we mke excuses for everyone without expecting the person at hand to realize their wrongs and correct them. The only victims here are...well, the victims. Those that are shot and die at the hands of these murdurous criminals. Legalize drugs and see what these kids have to kill for. Nothing. They'd be forced to get real jobs and become productive. And, it's not a race thing...all races are competent and all races can make the wrong choices in life. Let's leave that out regardless of the statistics you think you have. ReplyDeleteMy gf and I moved in to the uptown area, by beacon and wilson, about two months ago. The first thing I saw was a pair of sneakers on a telephone wire, smashed bottle of hennesey on the floor, and a man sketchingly sniffing a small bag of weed, probably trying to identify first if it was kush, and second if it was on point. I am no saint myself, so I am aware of the things gong on around me in uptown. I am currently working part-time and going to school part-time. I have hefty student loans therefore my financial position is technically worse than most of these "gangbangers" who usually carry around a couple g's in their pockets. Some people are right, that this is a socioeconomic problem. That these "kids," (most of whom are usually no longer actually kids even though the maturity level of their brains is equivalent to that of a fifth grader in most aspects aside from criminal activity and fighting), have no other option. If they want to be able to live without fear of being robbed and shot, they need protection, and not the ADT kind, the gang kind. The "boys got your back" kind of protection. For the sake of argument, lets say that is all true. Lets say that the bleak existence these people live with is enough reason to send them down this path... THERE WILL NEVER BE ANY EXPLANATION FOR WHY A BUNCH OF GANGBANGERS, BLACK, HISPANIC, OR CAUCASIAN, CHOOSE TO EITHER ROB, RAPE, OR KILL AN INNOCENT BYSTANDER. Its not my family that is holding the poor population down, nor my gfs. So we must live in fear of leaving our house after dark because of these people? Because the government decided to knock down the projects and move these people into neighborhoods around chicago? That is the reason why uptown is experienceing a revival of criminal activity, all the subsidized and low income housing. I mean my we pay $1100 a month for a one bedroom apt. ReplyDeleteTo 127 - you just need to get the F iut of Uptown, ASAP. Just lease in a less shitty part of town, then break your lease up therer. Hopefully your security deposit isn't that big. Maybe stay a month or two without paying rent before you take off, so you can build up a little money.

Moved to Uptown this month. Within my first 24 hours, I encountered an insane, screaming negress at the train station and was threatened and followed by a nigger. Charming.
