According to authorities, the burglary happened on the 600 block of West Aldine Avenue, near Aldine and Broadway.
Subsequent reports indicated the crime occurred at a 7-story apartment building at 641 West Aldine.
The intruder was described as a male black wearing all black clothing and carrying a black backpack.
At 4:47 p.m., police stopped a possible suspect near 3109 North Broadway.
Around 5:12 p.m., the suspect was released, because the victim did not identify the possible suspect as the man she saw in her apartment.
At the time of this report, the offender was still on the loose.

Around 5:38 p.m., a woman’s purse was reportedly snatched outside a Lakeview neighborhood grocery store.
According to an unconfirmed police dispatch report, the woman’s purse was stolen in the parking lot at the Jewel-Osco at 2940 North Ashland Avenue.
The alleged offender was described as a male black wearing a black sweater and jeans.
The purported thief fled the scene southbound from the Jewel-Osco parking lot, said dispatch.
It’s unclear is police made contact with the alleged victim.
And they still think housing prices (i.e. rents) are increasing around the "beautiful" lakefront. People sho 'nuff aren't buying. She probably asked for it though because she was WWW (working while White).
