Rape reported at downtown hotel
According to police dispatch, at 12:57 p.m., a female caller waiting on the corner near 660 North State Street, reported a criminal sexual assault.
The woman reportedly told 911 that she was raped and her friend was beaten and robbed.
The complainant said the alleged crime happened at the Embassy Suites Hotel at 600 North State Street.
As of 3:54 p.m., there was no indication an ambulance had been requested, or that a police evidence technician was called to the scene.
Woman’s iPhone stolen near Michigan Avenue
A woman's iPhone was taken near North Michigan Avenue and West Washington Street around 2:23 p.m.
The offender was described as a male black between 30 and 35-years-old.
He was wearing a green raincoat with a gray hooded sweatshirt underneath, a camouflage hat, and black pants.
No further details were available.
'Homeless' man masturbates on North Side street?
A male black, presumed to be homeless, was reportedly seen masturbating in Lincoln Park.
The alleged offender was spotted near the corner of North Clark Street and West Belden Avenue around 2:41 p.m.
According to the 911 caller, the man's pants were wrapped around his ankles while he fondled himself.
Thieves snatch elderly woman's purse on Near North Side
At approximately 2:30 p.m., a victim described as an elderly woman, was robbed on the 200 block of West Chicago Avenue, near Chicago and Franklin, said police.
Two men approached the woman and one of the men snatched her blue tote bag, said police.
One offender had his hair styled in braids.
No additional information was provided regarding the offenders.
Authorities said the woman's bag contained her medication, but there was no money or credit cards in the bag when it was stolen.
