Fare pepper sprayed, maced cabdriver in Gold Coast


A Chicago taxi driver was maced by his passenger in the Gold Coast neighborhood, said police.

The chemical assault was reported around 6:42 p.m., and occurred near Whole Foods at 30 West Huron, near State and Huron Streets, said authorities.

The offender was described a white male in his 40s, wearing a black jacket, blue shirt, and jeans.

He was last seen running eastbound on Huron.

The City Service taxi driver was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for treatment.

    I don't get it. Just to skip fare? He could have just run away without hurting the cabbie.

    Maybe he got sick of the cabdriver making the 4th wrong turn and ignoring his request to stop while he gabbed on his cell phone? Just sayin....
