Uptown: 2 arrested after elderly man is attacked and robbed

Around 8:24 p.m., an elderly man was injured during a robbery in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood, said police.

A preliminary report indicated two suspects were last seen on the 4700 block of North Kenmore, near Kenmore and Leland.

Two male black offenders approached the elderly man, hit him in the head with an unknown object and stole his bag, said police.

Investigators said one crook was wearing a brown jacket and the other criminal was wearing a blue jacket. Both men are believed to be in their 20s, said police.

Authorities located the victim on 4600 block of North Sheridan Road, near Sheridan and Wilson.

The elderly victim appeared to be “dizzy”. An ambulance was immediately called to the scene.

At 8:41 p.m., police stopped two possible suspects at Kenmore and Leland.

At 8:53 p.m., the victim positively identified the suspects as the men who robbed him, said police.

The elderly victim was transported to Weiss Memorial Hospital, 4646 North Marine Drive, for medical treatment.

Good job officers! Bravo!

  1. RIGHT ON CPD! This is what we need, quick arrests to get these ghetto thugs off the streets. Now all we have to have are the judges on board to send them away!

  2. I wonder why CPD is able to locate offenders in Lincoln Park and in Uptown on a consistent basis, but they can never locate the offenders in Boystown? Hhmmm...

  3. Thank you CPD. I hope these scum bags rot in hell for attacking an elderly person. Scum bags like to pick on the meek and helpless.
