Englewood shooting: Man shot on Emerald Ave.


Police are investigating a 12:45 a.m. shooting in Chicago’s South Side, Englewood neighborhood.

According to police dispatch, a man was shot on the 7300 block of South Emerald Avenue, near Emerald and West 74th Street.

Police identified the shooting victim as a 35-year-old man.

Subsequent dispatch reports indicated the victim was shot in the thigh.

Witnesses saw three black male suspects flee the scene southbound through an alley near Halsted and Emerald, said police.

No further details are available.

  1. How tragic that there is so much black on black crime. Tragic they hate each other so much as well. Even more tragic is that they have NO respect for human life.
