Darren Hayes' charged in Boystown stabbing. |
Hayes has been charged with aggravated battery and felony mob action.
The northwest Indiana man and approximately 10 to 15 other young black males, viciously assaulted 25-year-old Rubin Robinson, said police.
Robinson was stabbed multiple times and sustained a collapsed lung.
According to the victim, the brutal Boystown attack was ignited over a war of words.
Although several media reports claim Hayes is responsible for the North Halsted Street stabbing, Chicago News Report received emails contradicting those reports.
In a series of emails, which have been forwarded to the Chicago Police Department, a tipster looking for a monetary reward, claims she knows who actually stabbed Rubin Robinson.
"I know the people who punctured the boy's lung ... it made the news... they are relatives," said one cryptic email.
Chicago News Report made several attempts to get more information from the author of the email, but she was only willing to talk if there was a reward in exchange for her information.

ReplyDeleteWell, when its a pack of 20 attacking 1 person, its probably hard to tell which one(s) actually did the stabbing.
ReplyDeleteWell, if you don't know who did the stabbing, how can you charge ANYONE with the crime?
ReplyDeleteThey arrested Hayes because he is one of the few people whose faces can be seen in the video. The cops probably charged him with the stabbing so he'll give up the ones who actually did it.
ReplyDeleteKnives were recovered from his home. Tests were run for the presence of blood. DNA analysis on the knives is underway.
ReplyDeleteCase closed.
I have a feeling the victim was stabbed by more than one person. The case is far from closed.
ReplyDeleteDarren is innocent!!!! The cops did what they always do. They went after the first black face they could identify. I Hope to God Darren has a good attorney. Maybe Casey Anthony's lawyer is free!
ReplyDeleteVictim 25 years old. Attacker 24 years old (from Hammond, Indiana). Youth?
ReplyDeleteI've seen this happening there for at least the last 2 years.
The Center on Halsted is a problem, no doubt.
To all the businesses on Halsted blowing this off as "transient youth", I say "stick a quarter up your a**, cuz you just played yourself".

Perhaps, this is true. Perhaps, this is false.
If Darren stayed closer to his Hammond, IN home, he wouldn't be starring in a worldwide YouTube video.
"Nobody" is going to travel from Hammond, IN to Chicago's Lakeview community, in search of Walgreen's and 7-11.
Here's an idea, IF these so called "witnesses" who sent the emails KNOW who did it than talk, otherwise, "if the shoe fits" as they say. Besides, MANY people on that video were involved in attacking that man. Just because they may not have had a knife, doesn't mean they STILL should be charged with mob action! Heads up ghetto thugs and disrespectful youth...you get what you give and frankly, I'm glad BoysTown has had enough of your crap! Other communities will be joining suit so be very aware! WE"RE ALL FED UP!
