CTA train cuts off man's hand


Monday, around 2:30 p.m., a man was struck by a CTA Blue Line train on Chicago's West Side.

According to a preliminary report, the man on the CTA tracks near the 4600 block of West Lexington Street, when a train hit the man, amputating his right hand.

The incident occurred east of the Cicero Blue Line station at 720 South Cicero Avenue.

Paramedics retrieved the injured man’s severed hand from the train tracks, said police.

There was blood everywhere, said one eyewitness.

The injured man is said to be in stable condition.

  1. Sadly, this man lost his hand, but what was he doing on the tracks in the first place? What possess people to jump down unto train tracks? I swear to god, there is something in the water because people seem to get more stupid EVERYDAY!
