Friday, June 10, 2011, around 10:34 p.m., a possible carjacking or a kidnapping was reported on the 5900 block of North Lakewood Avenue near Lakewood and Elmdale.

At approximately 10:37 p.m., cops were on the scene.

A 911 caller saw two Hispanic men pulling a woman from a gray or black SUV at 5952 North Lakewood in Edgewater, said police.

Officers searched the area, but couldn’t find the gray or black SUV and there was no sign of the victim.

An officer at the scene repeatedly asked dispatch for a "callback number". The officer wanted to speak to the person who reported the incident.

A female dispatch operator told the officer he would have to request the callback number from her supervisor. "I don't make the rules", said the operator.

At 11:06 p.m., police announced they were looking to a Toyota Rav4.

One of the men involved in the incident was described as a large Hispanic man.

At the time of this report, it was unclear if police were investigating a kidnapping or a carjacking.

If you witnessed this incident, please contact the police.
