Around 12:45 a.m., a man was beaten and robbed at 3407 North Halsted Street, near Halsted and Roscoe, said police.
It’s the same 7-Eleven were a man was stabbed in the parking lot, less than two weeks ago.
The victim, identified as a Hispanic man, was attacked by a black male thief, said police.
The severity of the victim’s injuries were not disclosed.
However, an officer at the scene said the man was bleeding and requested an ambulance.
Authorities said the thief, who was last seen wearing a blue and red polo-style shirt, fled southbound on Halsted Street.
At 12:56 a.m., police apprehended a suspect on the 3200 block of North Clark Street, near Dunkin Donuts.
The suspect was positively identified by a witnesses and placed under arrest.
However, it is unclear if the man who was arrested on Clark Street, is the same man who attacked the victim on Halsted Street.

Boys will be boys in Boystown. Smh! Lakeview is going down the drain, especially Boystown. Wrigleyville still has a slight chance. But I think it's a WRAP for Chicago's most flamboyant neighborhood. Anyone with a bruised anus will probably be moving to Greenwich Village NYC, next!
ReplyDeleteOmg, people are so over dramatic. It's Chicago. There's a major recession. Is there going to be crime? Yup. Does it suck? Yup. Does it mean that one of the trendiest and most expensive neighborhoods in the city is done and over with? Absolutely not.
ReplyDeleteI would bet that anywhere you look, the crime rates have increased as the economy has continued to decline. I have family in Bucktown (also a ridiculously trendy and expensive area) and they can't leave anything in their cars, not even phone chargers, because people are smashing car windows just to get at those.
The bottom line is that a bigger police presence is needed in Lakeview to keep things under control. But it's certainly not the end of the neighborhood.
Skokie,
ReplyDeleteWhat is your fascination with "Butts?" Hmmmmm
To Skokie Swift-
ReplyDeleteYour comments just get more and more stupid
I'm glad they caught the alleged thief.
ReplyDeleteLol Towanda, unless I'm watching "Keeping Up with the Kardashians", I'm not sure what "butts" you are talking about.
ReplyDeleteThey had the ATV dune buggys out in full force last night (Wednesday) at 9:00 p.m. Sounds like they're listening. Looks like Roscoe's lost a front window, it's all boarded up. Maybe it's a recurring thang I've never noticed before.
ReplyDeleteMy hairdresser (LOL) that uses the precise #2 on my bald azz said she's having co-workers walk her to her car with her $75 in tips.
Sorry, thought I was "moving on up". That's what I was told anyway.
.....but I'll hand it to "'em". The FUNNIEST thing I ever saw in my life was that beautiful pre-2006 Caddy DTS (like mine that I got rid of when moving here) with the Chuckie doll and a REAL knife pointing up in his hand in it's rear side window on Halsted. I pointed it out and everone stopped to take pics with it. Jiggy knew he was comin' to the hood and didn't want that ride messed with! It was just a 100' north of that 7-11.
ReplyDeleteIt's so funny here now, I could write a book.
