The woman had been sprayed in the face with pepper spray or mace, said police.
Two black male suspects, dressed like women, tried to snatch the woman’s purse, said authorities.
"They maced her and they tried to rip her purse off her arm," said one officer.
One offender has a dark complexion. He is approximately 5’8” to 5’10” and 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black, medium length wig - a black tank top - blue jean Capri pants - and flip flops.
The victim wasn’t able to provide a good description of the second offender, whom police also described as a "man dressed in women’s clothing".
After the attempted robbery, both suspects fled the scene southbound on Pine Grove.
No arrest have been made.
Police are investigating.
