Elderly Edgewater woman hospitalized after caregiver accused of rape


An elderly woman on Chicago’s North Side was taken away in an ambulance, after her daughter accused her caregiver of rape, said police.

Authorities were called to an Edgewater high rise on the 5400 block of North Sheridan Road, around 2:07 a.m.

The alleged rapes occurred while the elderly woman's daughter was away, said preliminary reports.

The purported victim is in her eighties.

    How pathetic, sad and vile is this? This address is around Catalpa/Balmoral by the high rises there. Seems one is not even safe in their OWN home with security. Hope this guy gets sent away. This will be one of the few times a criminal is caught! Hooray:)

    I was going to bypass this story. That is, until an ambulance was called to the scene. All I can says is, there are a lot of really troubled people out there. I hope the woman is okay.
