President Obama to speak at Al Sharpton convention - this time he needs black voters

President Obama, the same man who once said, either rightfully or wrongfully so, that he would never have a "black agenda", seems to have changed his mind.

Throughout his disappointing presidency, Barack Obama, our nations first biracial president, has said over and over again, that if blacks were looking for special attention from his administration, they were barking up the wrong tree.

Well, it's reelection time and Obama needs every vote he can get - even the black ones. Why? Because most sane people are not going to make the same mistake, twice.

In an obvious display of desperation, the sure-to-be one-term president is scheduled to speak at the controversial Reverend Al Sharpton's national convention in New York, today.

In today's Sun-Times article, written by the Associated Press, Obama's political tightrope act is outlined as follows:

"He avoids race, so the story goes. He can’t afford to alienate white voters, black people will vote for him again anyway, so he has little to gain by approaching such a volatile subject."

Personally, I think the Associate Press is dead wrong. There are a lot of savvy, angry black Americans, who are completely turned off by Obama's glossy, feel-good snake oil campaign promises.

Besides, like one Sun-Times commenter said, "Anyone who needs Al Sharpton has already lost."

  1. Sharpton is a disgusting race hustler; gotta keep the hate whites thing going, thats how he makes his living. That the president would patronize Sharpton is a gross insult to all white American citizens. What a colossal phony and con artist Obama has turned out to be. His Nobel Peace Prize should be rescinded, for starters.

  2. Al Sharpton is an opportunist of the worst kind. Shoots off his mouth and than doesn't follow up. He's probably where that expression "talk is cheap" came from.
As far as Obama, I am disappointed in falling for the "change" slogan...Seems he's more like Bush than Clinton. At this point, I don't think ANY politician can be believed or trusted to help this country. They're all too busy worrying about America's reputation in the world than to be concern about AMERICA. I love that Congress WILL STILL get paid if the government shuts down. That should show EVERYONE who they really are concerned about and it aint you or me!

  3. When Obama first hit the campaign trail and kept ranting about "green jobs", I knew he had no idea how to create more jobs for out-of-work Americans. And every time I pointed out the obvious flaws in Obama's campaign promises, I was nearly crucified.

  4. Timothy, like "environmentalist" Al Gore (who claimed to have invented the Internet, when he just opened it up to the public), "environmentalist" Obama is the wrong spokesperson for the right cause. True Environmentalists know what they're discussing, unlike Obama and Gore. Of course, you were nearly "crucified", because "many" Americans worship politicians! :(

  5. Once Obama goes Black, he'll never go back! :)
