Woman stabbed in Chicago, Lawndale neighborhood

Police are investigating a stabbing in Chicago's West Side, Lawndale neighborhood.

The crime happened around 7:47 p.m., at 1231 South Fairfield Avenue, near the intersection of West 12th Place and Fairfield Avenue.

The female victim, who was stabbed in the chest, was attacked on the sidewalk, said police.

No information was given regarding the woman's condition.

Authorities did not disclose a motive for the assault and the attacker is still at large.
