Woman robbed, attacked at West Englewood CTA train station

Police are looking a man who not only robbed a CTA passenger, he also assaulted her.

A female CTA passenger’s purse was snatched at the Ashland/63rd Green Line “L” station at 6315 South Ashland Avenue, around 7:51 p.m.

The robbery victim told police the offender hit her in the head with an unidentified object, and took her purse.

The suspect was described as an African-American man wearing a red jacket. He was last seen on the Green Line train going towards Halsted.

  1. I could be wrong but I think I've read about a few other crimes committed in this area of the green line. Seems to be a pattern there..."Hello, Chicago police, are you reading this?"

  2. Towanda, I think you are thinking of the Ashland/Lake Street station at 1601 W. Lake St.

    I have posted several stories about crime at that station.
